Polygraph Exams in Evaluating Public Service Candidates

Polygraph exams for public service candidates are used to assess the candidate’s suitability for employment. The Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) allows certain job applicants in security service firms like armored car, alarm, and guard, and pharmaceutical-related positions to undergo polygraph examinations. Jobs that may require a polygraph test during a background check include roles such as prison guard, firefighter, pharmacist, security engineer, and police officer candidates.

Types of Issues:

  • Professional Standards
  • Law enforcement
  • Fire Department
  • Security firms
  • Pharmaceutical firms
